As a Payments Control Manager in Enterprise Functions and Services (EF&S), you partner with Product Owners to design, develop, and maintain a robust payments controls platform across APIs, onboarding and servicing, and client‑facing portals. You drive digital and AI‑enabled risk assessments, embed preventative and detective controls, and collaborate closely with technology and operations control teams to identify and close control gaps. Your work ensures a strong control environment and end‑to‑end compliance and risk mitigation throughout the platform delivery lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of payments controls across APIs, onboarding, servicing, and client portals.
  • Define and execute comprehensive control strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance and operational risks.
  • Operationalize digital and AI‑driven risk assessments and embed automated preventative and detective controls by design.
  • Oversee anti‑fraud and cybersecurity controls in partnership with Technology, Cyber, and Operations control teams.
  • Establish ongoing control monitoring, testing, and reporting; track metrics to validate effectiveness and close gaps.
  • Translate business needs into data‑driven requirements; analyze trends to strengthen the control environment.
  • Drive issue management, root‑cause analysis, and sustainable remediation plans aligned to policy and standards.
  • Govern change management for new features and releases to ensure compliant, well‑documented control coverage.
  • Manage and develop a diverse team; foster continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across product, technology, operations, risk, and compliance to achieve outcomes.
  • Deliver clear updates, dashboards, and materials that inform decisions and demonstrate risk reduction.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Proven control management experience in financial services focused on compliance and operational risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement anti‑fraud strategies and cybersecurity controls that safeguard operations.
  • Advanced data analysis and technology literacy to interpret trends and enhance control effectiveness.
  • Leadership experience building and guiding diverse teams with a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to drive collaboration and influence outcomes.
  • Solid project management discipline with a commitment to operational excellence.
