As an Associate in the Payments Operations Strategy team, you will be an integral part of the team, supporting strategic initiatives aimed at creating operations leverage by driving scale, risk mitigation and the client experience. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to analyze data, develop strategic recommendations, and assist in the execution of key projects. This is highly visible role that offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, data analysis, and project management, while contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Job responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and supporting a business that has ambitious long-term plans for growth in a highly competitive, complex environment. Additionally, the position will be responsible for leading key strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development and implementation of operating strategies that align with organizational goals and to drive sustainable growth.
  • Support the governance, planning, execution, and benefit realization of strategic initiatives across the organization through the Investment Proposal process; work with transversally across the organization to articulate Investment Proposals.
  • Leverage data analytics to uncover insights, identify trends, and inform strategic decision making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder to drive alignment and collaboration to define and execute on strategic vision.
  • Lead change initiatives to drive adoption of new processes, systems, strategies, and recommendations (i.e., future organizational design, business opportunities etc.).
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation to drive operational excellence.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong sense of prioritization and ability to execute against deliverables; accountable for projects and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and lead cross-functional initiatives with significant technology and operational components, manage project timelines, and drive projects to successful outcomes.
  • Critical-thinking capacity to anticipate future needs and develop solutions to complex challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment.
  • Analytical ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and drive actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Familiar with data analytics tools and techniques, including data visualization, data analysis, and data modeling, to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adjust to changing priorities, and effectively manage ambiguity while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
  • Proficient at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving consensus.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Alteryx, Visio, QlikView, Cognos, etc.
