As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Card & Connected Commerce, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for applications and systems
- Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream technical implications
- Apply tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve automation and value
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to support secure, stable application development
- Learn and apply system processes and methodologies for developing secure, stable code and systems
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages
- Ability to code in Java, Scala, or Python
- Experience with Big Data and Apache Spark
- Experience in cloud data processing on AWS EMR
- Experience as a data engineer on Databricks
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, Developer)
- Familiarity with GenAI & code generation tools like Copilot, Claude
- Familiarity with modern, cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks
- Data modeling, Data security and Privacy controls in Financial Industry
- Experience with developing /maintaining applications on Public Cloud
