As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, IAM IGA Operations, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted automation and operational tooling in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for designing and delivering critical technology solutions that reduce incident volume, automate identity and access management operations, and drive data-driven decision-making across the IGA ecosystem.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build automation frameworks and operational tooling
  • Develops secure high-quality production code in Python and PowerShell, and reviews and debugs code written by others across the automation portfolio
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring incidents to improve overall operational stability of IAM/IGA platforms
  • Architects and builds data pipelines and analytics tooling to surface incident trends, recurring failures, and automation opportunities from ServiceNow, Jira, and operational data sources
  • Designs and maintains monitoring and alerting solutions using Splunk and Grafana, including dashboard development, alert tuning, and automated response workflows
  • Leads evaluation sessions with internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical approaches, and applicability for use within existing automation and infrastructure systems
  • Leads communities of practice across the IGA operations engineering team to drive awareness and adoption of new automation patterns, AI-assisted tooling, and operational best practices
  • Owns CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation using Git/GitHub for the team's automation portfolio
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in Python with strong proficiency in PowerShell for infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building operational tooling, REST API integrations, and data extraction/analysis pipelines
  • Experience with SQL Server or relational databases for operational reporting and analytics
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent)
  • Practical experience with on-premises or hybrid cloud infrastructure environments

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management, or entitlement governance platforms
  • Proficiency with browser automation frameworks or enterprise system integration
  • Experience building web applications with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks
  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) and project tracking tools (Jira) including API integration
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers in an operational engineering context
