We are currently hiring a highly skilled lawyer to join the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) – Banking, Capital Markets & Research group. The position will include responsibility for providing primary advisory support for the following Groups in the CIB: M&A, Capital Markets, Credit, Research and Coverage .

Responsibilities will include:

The review and discussion of non-disclosure agreements; joinder agreements; non-reliance letters; tax allocation letters; powers of attorney; and related transactional and closing documentation. You will work both independently and with colleagues across the Firm’s global Legal Department. You will join a successful, well established global team of professionals, and be a part of the premier investment banks in the country and the world.

The required qualifications are:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience, whether in law firms or at corporations, which may include M&A, Capital Markets and/or other type of corporate transactional background, contract drafting and negotiation work.
  • Experience with drafting and/or reviewing engagement agreements and other corporate contracts.
  • Law degree and membership in jurisdictional organization JD or educational equivalent required. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
  • Enthusiastic, “can-do” attitude is critical to role, as well as a strong desire to work closely with the Corporate Investment Bank and Coverage bankers and the Legal practice group.
  • Excellent drafting skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills (English language as well as Spanish); ability to effectively communicate legal issues to senior managers or executives and to discuss with external client of the Firm; and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently on transactions and projects.
  • Team player, confident and proactive.
  • All candidates for roles in the Legal Department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
