As a Senior Manager of Security Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Application Security Team in Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
- Provides overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to senior-level security engineers that work on basic to advanced complex tasks
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members, and prioritizes diverse representation
- Be accountable for team outcomes, quality and business results.
- Drive and accelerate innovation, risk reduction and strategic technology adoption such as AI-enabled solutions
- Continuously learn about the threat landscape, emerging technologies, and management tools to identify opportunities to protect the firm, improve processes, and drive outcomes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience with AWS platform (Cloud native platforms)
- Experience managing teams of engineers that deliver software security solutions
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, secure software design and implementation, CI/CD, site reliability engineering, DevSecOps practices
- Advanced knowledge in application security, software development lifecycle controls, threat modeling, vulnerability management and related security domains
- Experience effectively communicating with senior business leaders
- Experience with code scanning tools
- Experience building security engineering products and solutions
- Experience with AI coding assistant tools
- Ability to guide and coach teams to achieve goals aligned against set strategic initiatives
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Certified in CISSP, AWS, CISM or related security, AI and cloud certifications
- Experience in designing, building and running complex, large scale production systems in the cloud, including code scanners, backend systems, AI agentic tools, Machine Learning solutions
- Proficient in Python Coding Language
- Background in computer science, cybersecurity or related fields
