Job Description
As a Vice President in Auto Risk Data and Reporting, you will lead advanced analytics and data support for the Auto Risk Team, covering both Retail and Commercial portfolios. The role is responsible for strategic oversight of portfolio performance monitoring, analytical DataMart development, regulatory exam and audit support, and driving innovation in risk analytics. The role requires balancing speed, accuracy, and strategic vision to enable agile, informed decision-making for senior leadership as well as a strong command of data management best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of analytics, reporting, and dashboards to help the Auto Retail and Commercial Solutions Risk organization monitor origination quality and portfolio performance, ensuring actionable insights for executive forums (EMR, ARC, DCS Risk Forum) and senior management.
- Drive integration of insights across Auto Retail and Commercial businesses, identifying opportunities for enhanced risk management and proactively addressing emerging risk trends.
- Partner with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams (Risk, Finance, Technology, Business) to align data and reporting initiatives with business objectives and evolving reporting needs.
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of risk reports and dashboards for senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders, serving as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on risk monitoring.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements across all risk reporting.
- Oversee support for regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring timely and accurate data and documentation delivery.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile:
- Deep understanding of financial services, risk management, and auto portfolios (retail and commercial).
- Strong leadership, organization, and attention-to-detail.
- Effective communicator, able to present complex information clearly to all management levels, including executive audiences.
- Collaborative leader, comfortable working virtually and across functions.
- Strategic thinker, self-motivated, proactive, and able to drive initiatives independently.
- Committed to productive teamwork, information sharing, and talent development.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in risk management, data analytics, or reporting within financial services or Auto Finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of risk concepts, regulatory requirements, and data governance.
- Project Management Skills -- well-organized, structured approach. Ability to achieve tight timelines on complex deliverables. Ability to manage and prioritize projects across cross-functional groups.
- Advanced proficiency in analytical languages (e.g., SAS, Python, SQL).
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with auto finance products and portfolios.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
- Proficient with storytelling of data and insights.
- Experience leading and developing analytics teams.
