As an Associate on the Careers & Skills on the Global Philanthropy team, you will be based in Washington, D.C. and provide support the firm’s strategy to expand economic opportunity and career pathways through philanthropic investments. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day project management, deck development, tracking and reporting, and coordination across local and national initiatives. You will help support the implementation and communication of the Global Philanthropy strategy, including grantmaking, strategic initiatives, timely activations, and other activities that advance work throughout the portfolios. The Corporate Responsibility (CR) includes Global Philanthropy, Public Engagement, Global Government Relations, the PolicyCenter, the JPMorganChase Institute, and Sustainability. The Global Philanthropy team consists of Employee Engagement & Volunteerism, Impact Finance, and the Foundation teams at the national and local levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of a grantmaking strategy with Program Officers aligned with the philanthropic goals and objectives of the firm and rooted in local contexts and conditions. Partner with Program Officers to develop business plans, build decks and presentations, track project milestones, identify shared learning and connection points, review grant summaries, and prepare packets for governance processes as requested.
  • Meet regularly with Program Officers to identify collaboration opportunities and lessons learned, and assist with follow-up coordination and additional project management as needed.
  • Manage internal reporting systems, perform regular data analysis, inform and partner with Program Officers on insights, and partner with pertinent team members on Salesforce grantmaking and data accuracy
  • Support the team on special projects as needed. Represent the firm at both internal and external events to strengthen relationships, support key initiatives, maximize firm visibility and highlight grant milestones
  • Participate in Corporate Responsibility meetings to provide updates on grantees and their application status, support convening and team agenda development
  • Maintain effective relationships with line-of-business leaders and communicate firm’s philanthropic strategy to multiple internal and external constituencies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in program development, implementation and/or policy
  • Passion for Corporate Responsibility mission; knowledge of and experience related to workforce and labor market issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to take calculated risks and address complex issues creatively and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically about grantmaking, program design and implementation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort delivering presentations to a wide variety of audiences
  • Flexibility to prioritize, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Results orientation with a commitment to establishing and executing on goals
