As a Data Scientist Associate at JPMorganChase within Merchant Services Data & Analytics, you will execute analytics projects that generate payments insights and build intelligent solutions that improve payments performance and decision-making. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to design and deliver end-to-end capabilities, including conversational assistants and workflow automation built with large language models and agent-based patterns.
Job responsibilities
- Conceptualize and deliver analytics and automation solutions that improve business processes and client outcomes
- Build payments insights that help merchants optimize authorization performance, chargebacks, and total cost of payments
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, datasets, and dashboards using tools such as Snowflake, Python, SQL, and Tableau
- Prototype and iterate on generative artificial intelligence features, including prompt design and refinement aligned to user needs
- Design, execute, and document testing and evaluation to validate reliability, quality, and effectiveness of solutions
- Monitor model and solution performance, identify enhancement opportunities, and implement updates to maintain relevance over time
- Partner with data owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support development of data models and analytics methods
- Support internal insights applications and external merchant insights experiences, including ad hoc client analytics requests
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field (or related discipline)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, analysis, and development of repeatable workflows
- Experience applying quantitative research methods and analytics to real business questions
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts, techniques, and common tooling
- Experience working with large language models and agent-based artificial intelligence techniques
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate goals into clear deliverables
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build partnerships across product, engineering, and business teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with rapid prototyping and data application development using Tableau and Streamlit
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and Snowflake for data management and analysis
- Understanding of quality assurance practices and approaches that protect data integrity
- Experience documenting analytic requirements and aligning stakeholders on scope and success measures
- Attention to detail with a proven ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly.
