As an OTC Derivatives Confirmations Operations Vice President within Derivatives Operations (CIB), you… lead a Mumbai-based confirmations function supporting a global, diverse client base across Rates, Credit, and Commodities. You will drive a best-in-class control framework to ensure confirmations align to ISDA guidelines, internal policy, and system-of-record requirements. You will also own change delivery across platforms and processes while developing talent and strengthening senior stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-asset drafting and confirmations team focused on Rates, Credit, and Commodities.
  • Manage matrix reporting relationships to deliver consistent execution, capacity planning, and performance outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Front Office, Middle Office, OCRM/OCM, and Technology to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure timely issuance of trade confirmations and accurate confirmation of cash flows in line with ISDA and internal standards.
  • Drive KPI attainment through disciplined prioritization, workload management, and transparent status communication.
  • Champion a robust controls mindset by identifying risk, executing checks, and escalating appropriately.
  • Lead change management for derivative confirmation systems and associated upstream/downstream impacts.
  • Improve daily workflows by identifying efficiency opportunities and implementing process enhancements.
  • Respond professionally to client and internal queries, maintaining high service quality and turnaround standards.
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships across regions, functions, and seniority levels to enable faster execution.
  • Execute small projects end-to-end with clear goals, measurable outcomes, and sustainable handoffs.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Demonstrate 12+ years of experience across Operations and/or Risk Management in a banking environment.
  • Apply strong knowledge of confirmation operations, product structures, and confirmation risk assessment.
  • Navigate ISDA guidelines and evolving industry standards to support accurate drafting and execution.
  • Lead people effectively, coaching performance and building a high-accountability team culture.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, including timely escalation and senior stakeholder updates.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships across Clients, Middle Office, Front Office, and Legal.
  • Exhibit a strong control mindset with disciplined execution and continuous risk reduction.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bring hands-on experience with OTC derivative confirmations across Rates, Credit, and Commodities.
  • Leverage exposure to change or project management, including business model impacts (e.g., Emissions, Power, EFET).
  • Use industry platforms and messaging tools (e.g., DTCC/TIW, SWIFT) in confirmation and lifecycle workflows.
  • Operate effectively within complex risk system and vendor platform ecosystems (e.g., Athena, GPS, Kapital, Pyramid, Markitwire).
  • Demonstrate experience with clearing/market infrastructure (e.g., ICE, CME/LME, LCH) and related operational touchpoints.
  • Strengthen process governance through metrics, root-cause analysis, and sustainable remediation.
  • Influence across a global, multi-site organization with proven ability to drive decisions and outcomes.
