Technology Risk & Controls Lead – International Consumer Bank (ICB)

We know that people want great value combined with an excellent experience from a bank they can trust, so we launched our digital bank, Chase International, to revolutionize mobile banking with seamless journeys that our customers love. We’re already trusted by millions in the US and we’re quickly catching up in the UK – but how we do things here is a little different. We’re building the bank of the future from scratch, channeling our start-up mentality every step of the way – meaning you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact.

As a Technology Risk and Controls Lead within the International Consumer Banking Cybersecurity and Technology Control team, you will identify, assess, and help mitigate technology and operational risks in line with the firm’s standards. You will provide subject matter expertise and guidance to technology-aligned process owners to support effective, auditable controls aligned to regulatory, legal, and industry expectations. By partnering with stakeholders (including Product Owners and Business Control Managers), you will contribute to governance and reporting that provides a clear view of the technology operational risk posture and its impact on the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and communicate technology risks, including emerging risks, control gaps, and potential impacts to business outcomes.
  • Provide risk and controls subject matter expertise to technology-aligned process owners; support control design and operating effectiveness.
  • Review control evidence and reporting inputs for completeness, consistency, and auditability; escalate concerns and uncertainties appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the control environment and drive continuous improvement across controls, processes, and reporting.
  • Contribute to governance routines and reporting, including control health, issue/action-plan tracking, and policy/standard adherence.
  • Support issue management activities, including prioritization, action-plan definition, progress tracking, and validation of remediation outcomes.
  • Analyze complex situations and data to produce concise, executive-ready insights that articulate the “so what,” options, and recommended actions.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities where appropriate to accelerate drafting and synthesis for risk/controls activities, applying human validation and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, technology controls, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, ITIL) and the ability to apply them pragmatically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical topics into clear business impacts and actions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and produce meaningful risk insights.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support risk and controls workflows, including validating outputs before use and escalating when uncertain, with awareness of data sensitivity and auditability expectations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development in risk management.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized risk certifications.
