BioSqueeze, Inc. is an innovative biotechnology company centrally located in southwest Montana. Our primary focus is using environmentally friendly microorganisms to seal cracks in oil well cement and damaged concrete infrastructure. Our first product is BioSqueeze® which is a novel biotechnology used to seal oil and gas wells that cannot be effectively sealed by conventional methods. Simply put, we provide the most reliable solution for eliminating methane leaks from oil and gas wells.

Job Summary

BioSqueeze, Inc. is looking for a flexible, innovative, and passionate Senior Research Scientist/Microbiologist with a broad range of experience that can help conceive and execute unique solutions in the emerging biomineralization industry. BioSqueeze has a small but actively growing R&D Department with a focus on optimizing and improving all aspects of our biomineralization process. The right individual will possess a strong understanding of microbiology and chemistry and be willing to learn and help advance the operation of bioreactors and processing equipment. We are looking for an innovative contributor willing and able to work with other team members across diverse scientific disciplines to advance our technology to the next level. Also, this person needs to be comfortable with guiding and supervising several junior-level laboratory personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and execution of laboratory and pilot-scale biological and chemistry experiments.
  • Maintain lab equipment and instruments.
  • Interface with other internal groups, including Engineering, Field Operations, and Management to understand operational and equipment issues and to help the R&D department formulate solutions to practical problems.
  • Documentation of laboratory results, analysis of data, development of standard operating protocols and procedures, and composition of summary reports.
  • Ability to give work direction to junior laboratory scientists.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher in microbiology, biochemistry, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of applicable laboratory experience
  • Hard working and strong safety ethic
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experimental design experience
