Overview of Position
Bridger has established strong competitive advantages with our Gas Mapping LiDAR™ technology and we are seeking an outstanding Operations Support Engineer to accommodate and continue our growth. The successful candidate will work closely with several teams here at Bridger including: GML Operations, Hardware, IT, and Software. The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving and communication skills. Additionally, learning the basics of all business units within Bridger will be key to the candidates success.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Support Bridger operations with portions of project management and logistics, including coordination and support of subcontractors and data acquisition
- Performing quality assurance checks on GML reports and data products;
- Sensor and systems troubleshooting and root cause documentation
- Be responsive to operational needs
- Interfacing with data acquisition software and hardware
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations
- Work non-standard work week to support 7-day operations (Final schedule to be determined based on team configuration)
- Design and implement process improvements including the documentation of lessons learned
- Working with optoelectronic and mechanical components and sub assemblies
- Performing quality control and quality assurance, shipping sensor hardware and supporting equipment
- Assist with sensor construction, maintenance and qualification via lab and/or field work
- Monitor, analyze, and gain feedback from subcontractors deployment of GML
- Contributing to improvements in GML sensor operation and manufacturability
- Contributing to improvements in systems and workflows for creating GML reports and data products;
- Troubleshooting issues with GML data products, reports and/or software tools.
Requirements
Required qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. 4-year degree
- 2+ years demonstrated experience working across multiple teams within an organization
- Demonstrated experience with independent project planning and execution
- Willingness to work hard and efficiently in fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel if necessary
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively with a team of scientists, engineers, executives, and support staff
- Careful attention to detail with the ability to produce error-free documents and reports,
- Proficient Microsoft Excel user.
Preferred qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A., in hard science field
- Experience in oil and gas industry
- Experience utilizing ticketing systems, documenting solutions, and building training materials
- Experience using common file formats such as .pdf, .csv, .jpg, .png, .tif, .kml/.kmz
- Experience with GIS data and software applications such as Google Earth, QGIS, ArcGIS,
- Experience with coding languages (ex. Matlab, Python, SQL),
- Experience with project planning and/or logistics planning,
- This is a full-time, salaried position
- Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and skills
- Travel may be required for this position
- This position is based at Bridger’s facility in Bozeman, MT
