IXL Learning, a leading EdTech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated associate Digital Designer to join our design team and create elegant, engaging user-centric interfaces that will excite and motivate our audiences. This role is designed to offer new graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of experience the opportunity to absorb and establish a solid understanding of IXL’s unique design style and extended brand families such as Rosetta Stone, Education.com, Wyzant, Vocabulary.com, and more.

As an Associate Digital Designer at IXL, you’ll get limitless opportunities to rapidly accelerate your skills by working in a highly talented multidisciplinary team of UI/UX, product, and graphic designers. You’ll become a highly valued design team member, collaborating cross-functionally to create great experiences. Your passion for designing intuitive, functional, and beautiful features - along with your expanding technical knowledge - will continually address our customers’ needs and requirements.

This is a full time position with a hybrid work schedule in our San Mateo, CA office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Create visual experiences for user-facing web, mobile, and tablet-based platforms
  • Transform wireframes into original, creative mock-ups in low and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Inspire users with attractive, compelling designs while maintaining visual consistency and brand identity
  • Participate in collaborative feedback sessions with the design team and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate with product team members and key stakeholders to understand and interpret project requirements
  • Enhance existing interfaces with new layouts, photos, graphics, and content
  • Collaborate with our marketing teams to design emails, promotions, online ads, and marketing collateral

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in UX/UI design
  • Ability to create user-centric, clutter-free, visually consistent designs
  • Working knowledge of product design tools such as Figma or Sketch
  • Understanding of UX/UI processes, methodologies, design libraries, knowledge of responsive web practices, and principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate visually, verbally, and in writing
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion
  • Passion for outstanding, elegant design
  • Experience in print design is a plus

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $110,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
