IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is looking for a Programmatic Manager. As a part of our Digital Marketing team, you'll play an important role in forming our programmatic advertising strategy that helps us acquire customers for brands like Rosetta Stone, IXL, Teachers Pay Teachers, and more.

The Programmatic Manager is responsible for managing the programmatic advertising spend for all of IXL Learning’s brands. This includes developing and executing programmatic strategies, managing relationships with programmatic partners, and tracking and optimizing campaign performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital advertising, experience ideating and managing programmatic campaigns, and a deep understanding of programmatic technologies.

This is a unique opportunity to own a growing channel for a leading edtech company, with the potential to build out a team to support you as the channel scales. Your efforts will help bring top learning tools to students of all ages around the world. The role will report directly to our VP of Digital Marketing.

This is a full time position with a hybrid work schedule in our San Mateo, CA office.


  • Develop and execute programmatic strategies that align with business goals across many of our brands
  • Manage relationships with programmatic partners, including DSPs, SSPs, agencies, and publishers
  • Manage programmatic campaigns from start to finish, including campaign planning, targeting, optimization, and reporting. Also work with designers to build creative
  • Monitor and analyze programmatic campaign performance to identify areas for optimization and improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on programmatic trends and technologies
  • Work with other marketing team members to develop and execute marketing campaigns


  • BA/BS degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, with a focus on campaign management and optimization
  • Strong understanding of programmatic technologies and platforms with self-managed experience in DSPs like DV360 and The Trade Desk
  • Tactical execution experience – CTV/video, native, geotargeting, prospecting vs remarketing, PMP executions, streaming audio, SSP direct deals
  • Ability to interpret campaign performance with regards to programmatic variables – geo, device, demos, behavioral, creative, targeting layers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills: You’re a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you are skilled at working cross-functionally

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $120,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
