WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking a Senior Director of FP&A to lead and develop the newly added Financial Planning and Analysis function. This role will build out best practices for reporting, analytics, growth management, and optimal resource allocation and efficiencies. This leader will manage employees in multiple geographies and bring cohesiveness to the team and processes. The ideal candidate will have led an FP&A organization for a SAAS company of similar size and have been with the company through an IPO or change of control and be able to take a strong leadership role with onX during similar events. This person will report to the CFO.

As an onX Senior Director of FP&A, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like:

  • Hiring and developing a world class FP&A team
  • Bringing process and organizational best practices to onX that will enable quick and accurate decision making and drive growth
  • Leadership of the annual and quarterly budget and forecast process.
  • Production and analysis of management financials and KPI reporting
  • Production of monthly investor updates and schedules
  • Partnership with accounting to ensure revenue, expenses, equity, and other items are recorded and tracked accurately.
  • Daily partnership with leaders across the company and joint ownership of financials and forecasts for business units and functions
  • Analysis of potential growth opportunities including organic and inorganic sources
  • Gain confidence of onX leadership and build a reputation of accuracy, integrity, speed, and loyalty.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.
  • Ten or more (10+) years of experience in FP&A, where at least five (5) of those years were spent working with SAAS companies.
  • Must have a proven track record of growing and leading an FP&A team for a SAAS company.
  • Strong ability to partner with leaders across the company and drive outcomes together.
  • Understanding of and experience in managing an organization to traditional SAAS metrics (LTV/CAC, Gross Retention, Net Retention, etc).
  • IPO and/or PE sale experience.
  • Track record of working seamlessly with accounting and co-development of optimal processes.
  • Experience successfully implementing and using core FP&A tools (Adaptive Planning, Excel, Tableau, Google sheets, Powerpoint, Word, Google Docs, etc).
  • Self-starter with a drive for excellence, the ability to build strong working relationships, and motivate others to achieve their best performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A service-oriented individual that continually challenges the status quo and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Ability to lead, work independently, and work in a team environment.

  • Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
  • Ability to travel monthly or quarterly for multiple days (primarily to Bozeman or Missoula).

ADDED BONUSES

Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Preference given to those located in Bozeman, Missoula, or Salt Lake areas where other finance employees are concentrated.
  • M&A and corp dev experience

WHERE YOU CAN WORK

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can only be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Talent Cluster.”

  • Corporate Offices: onX’s was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time this is a great option.
  • Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
    • Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
  • Talent Clusters: onX’s Talent Cluster locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
    • Our current Talent Clusters are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston, SC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; Spokane, WA; and Vermont.

HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $170,000 to $230,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
