We are looking for a Director of Product (“Director”) to support our rapidly growing team in Bellevue, WA. This role will be responsible for multiple products that represent a solution area at Submittable. Multiple product managers report to the Director and the Director is responsible for coordinating a healthy and cohesive roadmap across products, coordinating and communicating a solution strategy, driving alignment across product managers, engineering, and executives, and enabling each product manager to execute to the best of their capability. This is a full-time position and reports to our Chief Technology Officer.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Develop, maintain, and advance our product roadmap
- Coordinate a cohesive roadmap across the team
- Balance roadmap to address new innovation, customer requests, competitors, and maintenance
- Define a release cadence that aligns with the overall business and energizes our employees and customers with new innovation
- Communication
- Advocate the roadmap internally and with customers
- Own a bi-weekly product strategy discussion with executive leadership
- Develop and execute on feedback loops with all business functions
- Inform the company, our customers, and the market on our product direction
- Facilitate, coordinate, and process inbound feedback
- Alignment
- Align product team around a common set of goals that achieve our vision
- Align with engineering team to ensure a shared vision and goals
- Communicate roadmap and establish a shared vision between R&D teams
- Agility to align resources to the most strategic initiatives while not losing sight of longer-range initiatives
- Technical, able to fully understand and empathize with engineering work. Prefer someone who has been an engineer and can code
- Team Execution
- Establish, refine, and measure processes
- Estimate effort, prioritize work, communicate current status and changes
- Problem-solve on-time delivery constraints
- Manage timeliness of delivery and help team break down problems when necessary
- Coach, measure, and grow team
Skills & Experience We Hope You Bring:
- A clear sense of ownership and accountability
- Comfortable with the agility required to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment
- Comfortable setting big goals without knowing how to achieve them
- Technically minded and able to collaborate at a deep level with both application developers and infrastructure engineers
- Business-minded and able to collaborate at a deep level with sales, finance, and marketing executives
- Superb written and verbal communication skills characterized by clarity and brevity
- Strong storytelling skills
- Experience with SaaS building both mid market and large enterprise solutions
- Intuition for solving complex problems in the simplest possible way
- Ability to gather and dig deep into data and think from first principles
- Proven track record taking products from ideation to execution in an ambiguous environment
- 10+ years in product management and/or engineering or equivalent breadth/experience
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field with MS
We’d Love It If You Have:
- Experience with financial products
- Managed the integration of acquired company and technology
- Prior experience managing products in EU and APAC markets
- Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC, ISO, PCI, etc.)
- An MBA
Salary Details: The annual compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $225,000 OTE. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
Position Location: This role will be located in Bellevue, WA, or, Missoula, MT following a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to be willing to work from one of our office locations twice a week or as needed by your team.
